How much does an accountant cost in Miami?

Accountants in Miami price by the form and by the month, not by the hour, so the answer depends on what you file and how messy the records are. Below are the ranges you will typically see in South Florida, based on national preparer fee surveys and what clients tell us they were quoted elsewhere, followed by what actually moves the price.

Personal tax returns

  • A simple Form 1040 with a W-2 and the standard deduction: roughly $200 to $350.
  • A 1040 with itemized deductions, a rental property or investment income: roughly $350 to $600.
  • A 1040 with self-employment income (Schedule C) and a home office or vehicle: roughly $450 to $800.
  • An ITIN application (Form W-7) prepared with the return usually adds $100 to $200.

Business tax returns

  • A single-member LLC is reported on the owner’s 1040 (Schedule C), so see above.
  • A partnership return (Form 1065) or S corporation return (Form 1120-S): roughly $800 to $1,500, more with several owners, several states or fixed assets to depreciate.
  • A C corporation return (Form 1120): roughly $900 to $2,000.
  • A non-resident return (1040-NR) or a Form 5472 for a foreign-owned LLC: roughly $400 to $900 each.

Monthly bookkeeping

  • A small business with one bank account and under 100 transactions a month: roughly $250 to $450 per month.
  • A business with payroll, several accounts and 100 to 300 transactions: roughly $450 to $900 per month.
  • Catch-up bookkeeping for past months or years is usually priced per month of records, often at a discount for volume.
  • Payroll processing is normally a separate flat fee per pay run or per employee.

What makes the price go up

Disorganized records are the biggest factor; a shoebox of receipts costs more than a clean QuickBooks file. Then: the number of forms and schedules, income in more than one state, rental properties, foreign accounts or foreign owners, amended returns and prior-year filings, and IRS letters that need a response.

What makes it go down

Clean monthly books, documents sent on time and in one batch, a single business entity, and bundling the tax return with the bookkeeping or payroll service. Most firms, including ours, give better per-form pricing to year-round clients.

How to get a fixed price

Ask for the quote after a short conversation and before any work starts, in writing, with what is included. At MO Accounting Services the first 15-minute consultation is free and the price we give afterwards is the price you pay, with no hourly surprises and no long-term contract.

Ranges are general market figures for South Florida, not our price list. Your quote depends on your forms and records, and we give it in writing before starting.

Frequently asked questions

How much does business tax preparation cost in Miami?

A single-member LLC is filed with the owner’s 1040 and typically costs $450 to $800. Partnership and S corporation returns typically run $800 to $1,500, and C corporation returns $900 to $2,000, depending on the number of owners, states and assets.

How much does monthly bookkeeping cost?

Typically $250 to $450 per month for a small business with one bank account and under 100 transactions, and $450 to $900 with payroll, several accounts and more activity. Catch-up work is priced per month of records.

Is it cheaper to do my own taxes?

Software is cheaper for a single W-2 and nothing else. Once there is self-employment income, a rental, an LLC, foreign income or an ITIN, a preparer usually finds deductions and avoids errors worth more than the fee.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. We quote a fixed price for the return or the monthly service after the free consultation, and we tell you in advance if something falls outside it.
